VP Testimonials
We have a spring freshening grass based Jersey herd. This year we grew American Organic Seed ValuePlus® vpD749 and chopped it for silage. It is the first year we have fed silage. We were expecting to increase body condition and have experienced those results. Surprisingly, we have also seen higher components. In Oct 07 our average butterfat and protein were 5.51 and 4.08. This year our Oct averages were 5.83 and 4.26. On Oct 30, we had a herd high of 6.48 butterfat and 4.63 protein. We are pleased with the results and will continue to include American Organic 749 in our program. Thank you Charlie Brown and American Organic Seed.

We have not grown this corn variety until this year, but when the first whole kernels were fed to our dairy calves, they really took notice. They came immediately to the feeder and ate only the Value Plus® kernels. Our dairy cows were quite receptive too. They lick the bottom of the feeder, which is different from their habits with the other organic hybrids we have grown.
We like the low dust from the ground grain mix also. It also satisfies more of our protein needs without using soy or peas in the rations.
We are not planting any other hybrids this year, as we are quite pleased with this corn. Even if it does yield a bit less, we think the feed advantages are worth the efforts.

We just came off the Value Plus® feed. The eggs went back to being more inconsistent as well as smaller on the average. I also had to add an additional 200# of protein to the mix.

We started feeding the Value Plus® silage the middle of November. Within the week our BF went up 5 points, our milk protein went up 6 points. The production and the components have both held up until the present.

More coming as producers have the opportunity to feed their Value Plus® grain or silage.
